A story set in Scotland would be jiggery pokery without its share of Scottish words and phrases. And crivens, “Brave” has plenty! But it would all be for naught unless accompanied by a proper glossary, so here goes…

HAGGIS
Though some will joke that a haggis is a small animal native to Scotland, it is actually a traditional Scottish pudding made with sheep’s heart, liver and lungs, encased in a sheep’s stomach and cooked for several hours. Often served with “neeps and tatties” (turnips and potatoes).
HIGHLAND GAMES
Festivals that celebrate Scottish and Celtic culture and heritage, especially that of the Scottish Highlands. Includes competitions in piping and drumming, dancing, archery, caber tossing, stone put and other Scottish athletics, plus entertainment and exhibits.

In “Brave,” the will o’ the wisps lead Merida to change her fate.
ABOUT THE MOVIE:

My kitty-boy Geeno is an adventurer. He’s discovered how to use the pet-screendoor to get to the backyard. Fortunate for us that his curiosity hasn’t led him to go beyond a few feet from the patio so we were able to get him back inside.
But, we can’t lock or block the pet-door to prevent him from ‘escaping’ again, our dogs would suffer if they couldn’t get to the backyard for some relief. So, we decided to see if we could get Geeno into a harness & leash and let him explore the great outdoors without chance of escape.
Here’s a pic:
My girls and I were suprised…he didn’t give us a fight and he did really well walking around with it on.
Here’s a video of his brief adventure outside. We’ll need to try out the harness & leash on our other 2 kitties and see if they’ll do as well as my Geeno.
If you got a cat, are they leash trained? Share your comment or any other thoughts below!
